GLYCOLIC ACID: An organic acid found in nature, especially in sugar cane. It differs from other AHAs as it contains only two carbon atoms. It is not photosensitive and has multiple skin benefits: it reduces the thickening of the stratum corneum by interacting with the bonds between corneocytes, increases the internal thickness of the epidermis, reactivates cellular metabolism, and contributes to the renewal and restructuring of the dermis. It facilitates the penetration of other active ingredients, acts positively both directly and indirectly on many biochemical processes in the skin, and helps maintain an even skin tone.

PHA Gluconolactone: PHAs block reactive oxygen species (ROS), preventing structural and functional damage to the skin and protecting it from external aggressions. These substances have multiple properties, including strengthening the bonds of corneodesmosomes, preserving and restoring proper cellular turnover of corneocytes in the stratum corneum. Naturally present in the skin, it is important in the cell renewal process. Keratinocytes naturally synthesize and convert gluconic acid and gluconolactone into ribose and deoxyribose, the fundamental building blocks of RNA and DNA. It has strong moisturizing properties, modulates the keratinization process, revitalizes cellular turnover, is a natural antioxidant against ROS, improves barrier function, especially in sensitive skin, improves skin texture, and protects against photoaging.

MALIC ACID: A catalyst in the Krebs cycle, stimulating the complete combustion of fuel for energy. In skin aging, one of the functional alterations is a deficit in Krebs cycle activity, resulting in less biological energy. Enzymes bound by endotoxins can affect the chemistry of the Krebs cycle, reducing pyruvic acid's ability to enter the energy production cycle. It also has properties such as remodeling cellular turnover, antioxidant, and moisturizing.

DERMAXIL: Improves skin integrity and barrier function. It decreases transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and enhances elastin synthesis. It has a chemotactic action.

ASCORBYL PALMITATE: Ascorbyl palmitate is an antioxidant derived from the reaction between ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and palmitic acid (a fatty acid). Vitamin C is unstable and one of the most thermolabile compounds. Due to its structural characteristics, vitamin C is water-soluble and has no affinity for lipid or fat environments. Converting ascorbic acid into ascorbyl palmitate aims to make it stable and able to interact with lipid matrices. This molecule is more stable than free ascorbic acid. It strengthens the immune system, supports the body’s defense mechanisms, promotes cellular turnover, is a key cofactor in collagen production, and has antioxidant (ROS) and anti-inflammatory activities. It preserves capillary integrity and supports repair processes.

MANDELIC ACID: A cellular modulator for the epidermis, it has sanitizing activity, moisturizing, and firming effects. It evens out skin tone, provides immediate luminosity, and improves keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation.
